# Bonfires

<figure><img src="/files/lRXpCYhdqDby6drrYuCh" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

## Bonfires

*Where Grace still burns, the journey may begin again.*

**Bonfires** are EldenRO's main checkpoints. They connect recovery, the **Site of Grace**, fast travel, Flask management and advanced character progression.

The current network contains **80 registered Bonfires** organized into **27 travel regions**.

{% hint style="info" %}
Resting and unlocking are separate.

A Bonfire can restore you and become your Site of Grace, while its fast-travel destination remains undiscovered until it is kindled.
{% endhint %}

## System Summary

<table data-search="false"><thead><tr><th>Property</th><th>Current Rule</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Registered Bonfires</strong></td><td>80</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Travel Regions</strong></td><td>27</td></tr><tr><td><strong>The First Grace</strong></td><td>Automatically unlocked</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Other Travel Unlocks</strong></td><td>Require Base Level 200</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Resting</strong></td><td>Restores HP, SP and Flask charges</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Site of Grace</strong></td><td>Updated when resting</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Travel</strong></td><td>Only to discovered Bonfires</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Progression Services</strong></td><td>Available from Base Level 200</td></tr></tbody></table>

## Resting at a Bonfire

Entering the main Bonfire interaction immediately restores:

* **100% HP**
* **100% SP**
* Crimson Flask charges up to the current allocation.
* Cerulean Flask charges up to the current allocation.

It also records a save point near the Bonfire and displays:

> `You rested at the Site of Grace.`

The default save position is **2 cells away** from the Bonfire NPC.

{% hint style="success" %}
The most recently rested Bonfire becomes your normal Site of Grace.
{% endhint %}

***

## Unlocking Bonfires

### Distant Bonfires

Every other Bonfire requires:

> **Base Level 200**

before it can be kindled for fast travel.

When successfully unlocked:

> `The embers stir... A path is unveiled.`

Characters below Base Level 200 receive:

> `Only those who have reached Base Level 200 may kindle distant flames.`

{% hint style="warning" %}
The Base Level 200 requirement applies to unlocking distant Bonfires for the travel network.

It does not define the normal resting requirement.
{% endhint %}

***

## Fast Travel

Select:

> `Travel through flame`

then choose a region and a discovered Bonfire.

Discovered destinations are shown normally. Undiscovered destinations appear marked as:

> `(Undiscovered)`

Trying to travel to one displays:

> `The embers of this place remain shrouded. Seek it out first.`

Travel uses the stored map and coordinates of the selected Bonfire.

## Bonfire Services

The current main menu contains these exact labels:

* `Level up`
* `Channel Grace`
* `View Rune Status`
* `Travel through flame`
* `Manage Flusk`
* `Use Golden Sed`
* `Use Sacred Tear`
* `Travel Main Flame`
* `Nothing`

{% hint style="warning" %}
`Manage Flusk` and `Use Golden Sed` are the current in-game menu spellings.
{% endhint %}

### Level up

Available from **Base Level 200**.

This service spends Zeny to increase Base Level. Detailed costs and progression are covered in **Bonfire Levels 200–255** and **Soul Levels 256–713**.

### Channel Grace

Available from Base Level 200, but Rune Points only exist after progressing beyond Base Level 255.

Rune Points can be invested into:

* Vitality
* Mind
* Strength
* Intelligence
* Endurance
* Grace
* Discovery

### View Rune Status

Displays:

* Elden Level
* Rune Points spent
* Rune Points available
* Current rank of each Rune attribute

### Manage Flusk

Allows the player to:

* Shift charges between Crimson and Cerulean.
* Restore current Flask charges.

### Use Golden Sed

Consumes a **Golden Seed of Grace** to increase maximum Flask charges, up to **12**.

### Use Sacred Tear

Consumes a **Sacred Tear of Grace** to strengthen either Crimson or Cerulean Flask.

### Travel Main Flame

Returns the character directly to:

> `new_1-2 (102, 103)`

***

## Important Rules

* The First Grace is always unlocked.
* Other Bonfires require Base Level 200 to join the travel network.
* Undiscovered Bonfires cannot be selected as travel destinations.
* Resting updates the Site of Grace independently from travel discovery.
* Resting fully restores HP and SP and refills allocated Flask charges.
* `Level up`, `Channel Grace` and `View Rune Status` reject characters below Base Level 200.
* Special content may temporarily use return rules that override the normal Site of Grace.

***

## Quick Guide

1. Interact with a Bonfire to rest.
2. Confirm `You rested at the Site of Grace.`
3. Reach Base Level 200 to kindle distant Bonfires.
4. Use `Travel through flame` to access discovered destinations.
5. Use the remaining Bonfire services for progression and Flask management.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://eldenro.gitbook.io/wiki/core-systems/bonfires.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
