# Enchantments

## Enchantments

*Every weapon carries an echo. Nereth gives that memory another form.*

**Enchantments** are created through **Nereth, Echo-Smith** by recycling eligible weapons into Essences and using those Essences to forge **Inscription** scrolls.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Weapon extraction permanently destroys every selected weapon.

Always review the batch preview before confirming.
{% endhint %}

## Nereth, Echo-Smith

### Location

> `new_1-2 (32, 183)`

### Services

* `Study the Echo Ledger`
* `Extract a Weapon Echo`
* `Forge an Inscription`
* `Awaken Equipment Grade`
* `Leave`

***

## How the System Works

1. Bring clean eligible weapons to Nereth.
2. Extract them into Weapon Echo Essences.
3. Gain account-wide Echo-Smith EXP.
4. Unlock higher Echo-Smith Ranks.
5. Forge an Inscription scroll.
6. Equip the correct Shadow Equipment piece.
7. Use the scroll to apply its enchantment.

Echo-Smith EXP, Level and Rank are shared by every character on the account.

***

## Echo-Smith Ranks

| Rank        | Required Level | Cumulative EXP |
| ----------- | -------------: | -------------: |
| Novice      |              0 |              0 |
| Apprentice  |              5 |            125 |
| Journeyman  |             10 |            250 |
| Expert      |             20 |            750 |
| Artisan     |             30 |          1,500 |
| Master      |             50 |          3,900 |
| Grandmaster |             65 |          6,900 |

Normal Weapon Level 4 extraction requires:

> **Master — Level 50**

***

## Weapon Echo Extraction

### Accepted Weapons

* Clean Weapon Level 2 weapons.
* Clean Weapon Level 3 weapons.
* Clean Weapon Level 4 weapons after reaching Master.
* Registered Special Arms.

Weapon Level 1 weapons are not accepted.

### Rejected Weapons

The forge rejects weapons that are equipped, unidentified, broken, refined, carded, forged, graded, carrying Random Options, rental, bound or explicitly protected.

{% hint style="info" %}
The server cannot determine whether an identical weapon came from a monster, shop, quest or event.

The extraction list shown by Nereth is the practical authority.
{% endhint %}

***

## Essence Tiers

| Weapon Type    | Essence               | Guaranteed | Bonus Chance | Echo EXP |
| -------------- | --------------------- | ---------: | -----------: | -------: |
| Weapon Level 2 | Faded Weapon Echo     |          1 |   25% for +1 |      1–2 |
| Weapon Level 3 | Tempered Weapon Echo  |          1 |   20% for +1 |      2–4 |
| Weapon Level 4 | Ancient Weapon Echo   |          1 |   15% for +1 |      5–8 |
| Special Arm    | Sovereign Weapon Echo |          1 |   20% for +1 |     8–12 |

Each accepted weapon always grants one Essence and may grant a second.

***

## Batch Extraction

Nereth can process up to:

> **100 weapons per batch**

Available options:

* `Extract all eligible weapons`
* `Extract every weapon of one tier`
* `Choose a weapon and quantity`

The preview shows the selected count, tier distribution, possible Essence yield, possible Echo-Smith EXP and the permanent destruction warning.

The exact confirmation option is:

> `Extract the entire batch`

If the inventory changes before completion, the process stops without consuming anything.

## Inscription Slots

| Shadow Slot    | Examples                                        |
| -------------- | ----------------------------------------------- |
| Shadow Armor | Acute, Mettle, Master Archer, Critical effects |
| Shadow Shield | Magic Essence, Saving, Heal, MATK |
| Shadow Shoes | Hawkeye, Lucky Day, Runaway Magic, Bear's Power |
| Shadow Earring | Adamantine, Affection, DEX, Max HP |

No current scroll targets Shadow Weapon or Shadow Pendant.

***

## Applying an Inscription

1. Equip the correct Shadow Equipment piece.
2. Use the Inscription scroll.
3. The system verifies the required slot.
4. The enchantment is applied.
5. One scroll is consumed.

The item must be equipped in the correct slot, not signed and not already enchanted.

On success:

> `Enchantment complete.`

{% hint style="warning" %}
The current system allows only one enchantment per item.

There is no overwrite or reroll option.
{% endhint %}

A failed eligibility check does not consume the scroll.

***

## Equipment Grade

`Awaken Equipment Grade` opens the native Grade interface.

Equipment Grade is separate from Inscription enchantments and ordinary Refinement.

Grade costs, probabilities and risks depend on the active Grade database. Only values shown by the live interface should be treated as available.

***

## Quick Guide

1. Visit Nereth at `new_1-2 (32, 183)`.
2. Extract clean disposable weapons.
3. Build Echo-Smith EXP and Essences.
4. Unlock the required Rank.
5. Forge the desired Inscription.
6. Equip the correct Shadow item.
7. Confirm that it is not already enchanted.
8. Use the scroll.

{% hint style="success" %}
Choose the target item carefully.

Once applied, the current enchantment cannot be replaced.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://eldenro.gitbook.io/wiki/equipment/enchantments.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
